Day 6 - Home Again

So, this vacation is officially in the books.  We really didn't keep any stats (like miles driven, mileage, etc.).  We drive to SLC several times a year, and Park City is only 20 miles from the U of U, so Google it if you want to know the distance.

As far as budgets go, we didn't really have one.  Kim set aside money she earns with her facial/skin care sales, and also some of her photography money.  But we didn't go crazy.  Our worst offense was going out to dinner 3 times.  Or the Alpine Slide/Coaster.  Not the cheapest...

We got to SLC around 10:30, and got all of Connor's stuff into his apartment.  Then we went to his favorite restaurant for brunch.  We got back on the road by noon, and made it home before 5.

It is always good to be home again.  Except we will be making the drive again in 3 days to take Jordan to college (Logan, not SLC, but close enough).

Not sure if this will be our last official family vacation or not.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  Until then.  Maybe....

Day 5

Today is our last day in Park City, Utah.  We decided to go to the Park City Mountain Resort rather than the Olympic Village.  They both offer similar attractions, but since the weather was iffy, we decided not to invest in the all-day pass, so the Mountain Resort seemed to make more sense.

We got a 2-ride pass,  1 ride on the Alpine Slide, and one on the Alpine Coaster.  They were both pretty fun.  During the Alpine Coaster, it started spitting a little rain, so we went back to the condo and had our baked ziti for lunch.

After an afternoon of reading, we went out for our last dinner at an Irish Pub we'd seen while wandering the art festival.  I got myself a Guinness and a Reuben.  Both were delish!  Then we went back for a final load of laundry and euchre.

Not much in the way of pics, but here goes:
The Alpine Slide (warning - the video is shaky!)

Our final dinner - doesn't Jo look thrilled??....

Days 4 and 5 (I'm a day behind!)

Day 4:  We went on a hike, it was a nice, easy one because of the fact that my hip starts hurting after about 3.5 miles. It's the strangest thing, but if the hike is under that, I'm good! There were some pretty views from the top, so it was worth the effort.

Andy ... king of the mountain!!
After our hike, we chilled at the condo (another nap may have taken place). Before dinner, Andy and I head down to listen to the band and enjoy a beer or two. The kids joined us for a few songs before we head to dinner. We chose an Italian place and my salmon with pesto pasta was DELISH!!

Day 5: Park City Mountain
We spent the morning at the Park City Mountain area, where we enjoyed the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster. Both were over too quickly, but were lots of fun. SPEED!!

The start of the alpine slide
Jordan finishing up the alpine slide
After that, we came back to the condo for some lunch, and possibly another nap. I finished my book too!! I was sad that it was over (read The Passage trilogy!!!). Jordan entertained us all with her singing before we left for dinner.

After dinner, we blogged and then the plan is to play some euchre before hitting the hay. We leave tomorrow :(

OH JEEZ UH

Hey so. Stuff happened yesterday. Mostly it isn't important. Hike! Music! I read some more of Spiral, the sequel to Ring. It's really good! Surprisingly scientific considering it's about the ghost of a psychic girl. Also I got the fam to watch Armageddon last night, but nobody had any fun. :( Last time I do that, I suppose...

Today we went to an amusement park that was pricey. $140 for us to do two rides! I've been told not to stress about the money aspect, but... There was a slide and a coaster, both of which you could control your speed on. I thought that was neat, I haven't seen it before. The coaster was better, but both were a little disappointing in my opinion. The coaster also took your picture, which cost $15 for one and $10 for each subsequent one. $45 if we all wanted one! (Hint: We didn't buy any, because lol)

Also, I watched 13 Going On 30 at my sister's behest. It was fine, but wtf Mark Ruffalo. You're getting married in like two days and you kiss someone else?? That's pretty much the definition of "super fucki*n uncool". Also, what's the deal with the magic pixie dust? Where is this stuff manufactured? Why are thirteen year olds allowed to buy packets of the stuff? Where's the kid who wished for a pet T-Rex??? What are the rules here, is what I'm asking. Not enough backstory on the magic pixie dust.

ALSO WE ATE FOOD IT WAS A LITTLE SOGGY AND I THINK WE MIGHT PLAY CARDS LATER BUT WHO KNOWS I SURE DONT

:^)

Just Be Glad That I'm Actually Making Posts This Year

Holo everybody!

This will probably be my last blog post for this vacation.

And it's going to be just as shitty as all the other ones were.

Yesterday we went for a hike. I hate hikes so i don't have anything to say about that. Um... I finished the new Harry Potter book.... Yup...

Oh! There was an old guy dancing. Here's my snapchat video of it:

Today we went to some park place i dont know. we were planning on going to the Olympic Park but that didnt happen. We went on an alpine slide and an alpine coaster... there was a kid complaining because he was scared... that's about it... here's a video:

And that's all. Vacation over.

Oh! Have i told you guys about the door? There's a door in the bedroom Connor and I share. It has no door knob and is locked. No one knows what it leads to. Maybe someday someone will find a key to it and meet their other mother and get buttons sewn into their eyes. Who knows. Here's a picture of it because why not:

Also, I finally got Connor to watch 13 Going On 30.

Okay.

Until next time one person that reads this.

Day 4

Today was a really nice day.  We started with a short hike this morning.  We wanted to get out before it got too hot, so we headed out at 10, and were back by 11:30.  The hike was just across the street, and gave us some good views of the town.

Then we settled in for lunch and chilled for the early part of the afternoon.  Around 4, Kim and I went back to the beer garden for some live music and beer.  The kids met up with us around 5, and then we all went out for dinner at an Italian place we passed on the way back from the hike.

Tomorrow we are planning to go the the Mountain Lodge for the alpine slide and coaster.  Maybe some mini golf and/or zip lines.  The weather says t-storms, so we will play it by ear...

One of the bands we saw.  If you look closely, you may notice that the bass player has no right hand....

Day 2 - Part 2

Forgot to upload the track and stats from our ATV day.  So, here they are:

We started and stopped from the point under the +/- signs.  Our first wrong turn is the dead-end at the bottom.  Our 2nd wrong turn is the left most dead-end of the small Y towards the middle.  The right most dead-end of the Y is where we did not feel skilled enough to continue.  We back tracked to the V at the middle, and took the track on the right, to the upper left.  from there we headed back out to the start/stop.

Total miles are not accurate since I didn't start tracking until we got in to the park (the bottom V before the wrong turn down).
